Sri Lanka wildlife conservation society (SLWCS)
SLWCS is a nonprofit committed to developing a sustainable model for wildlife conservation in Sri Lanka. Their focus is on helping people, elephants and other wildlife co-exist peacefully.
SLWCS created Project Orange Elephant (POE) to plant orange trees around farms in rural Sri Lanka. The orange trees protect crops and rice stored in homes from destructive elephants and supply a supplemental income to farmers. With corporate sponsors including EleBalance and volunteer donations, POE works in twelve villages in the Wasgamuwa area and the project continues to grow!
EleBalance works directly with POE to bring awareness to their mission and expand their project.
